Welcome
Thanks for visiting my bit of the internet! My name is Scott, but I'm known to the Game Maker community as RoboBOT. And that's what this site is mostly about: Game Maker. If you're not familiar with it, let me clue you in. Game Maker is a game development program that is really easy to learn, but gives you the control and power you need to make some really neat 2D games (and some mediocre 3D games, but I steer clear of that). I've been working with Game Maker since about 2004, though I don't have a lot to show for my efforts. If you're a Game Maker, check out my Game Maker Help page. If you're not, check out my games and programs. You don't need Game Maker to run them; they are just like any other game you can download. Have fun!
You will also find some other digital creations here, namely pixelart and digital photography. I'm no pro in either area, but hey, it's my website. I'll put whatever crap I want on here.
This site is hosted by Hoogetech. Help Hoogetech support no-kill animal shelters such as the Topeka CAT Association!

So I finally gave up my vision for a grand RPG, and I'm rather annoyed with you (yes, you) for not telling me to snap out of it. I could do it, but I just don't have the dedication for it. Instead, I'm working on a rather modest puzzle game for the next Yoyogames competition. The engine is at least half done, and I have 3 puzzles designed already (and the contest hasn't even been officially announced yet!). This game has potential for becoming popular amongst the puzzle-lovers of the GM community.
I've also added a few links, including one to GMTech Magazine. Speaking of which, look for my pixel tutorials in GMTech starting with issue 12!

Sony's QRIO (which is now discontinued) is probably the coolest robot ever. Check out these videos: Dancing, Dancing again. He also can get up if you knock him over, he rollerskates, he hops, he runs, he has face recognition, he's got voice commands, and a lot of other sweet stuff. Too bad Sony decided to stop working on this $50,000 machine.
As for Game Maker, most everything is on hold until I replace my broken mouse. I'm stuck with my laptop touchpad.

Hey, check this out, it's pretty cool: It's a site where you make up a city and watch it grow as more people visit it. I made one, just for kicks: Scottholme! I love wasting time on the internet...
Oh, as for updates: um, I've done some more sprites for an RPG, as well as my basic movement script. I also have a lot of back-information for the game: town names, attacks and classes, stuff like that. I hope I maintain interest in this, because it will be quite nice to finish a large-scale game.

It looks like I won't be entering the Ancient Civilizations competition on Yoyogames. I just don't have the time to finish the game. Instead, I've been toying with an idea for an RPG. My initial sprites are looking great, so we'll see where this takes me.
As for updates, I added a link to the links page.

The site is online, thanks to the generous hosting of Hoogetech.

The site is in the works! In the future I'll put site updates and other news here.
